We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bistro Attendant/ Guest Service Agent to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a strong understanding of the food industry.
As a Bistro attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers have an exceptional customer and dining experience while maintaining high standards of food preparation and sanitation.
As a Guest Service Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive outstanding service throughout their stay.
Must have Safe Food Handler Certificate and Smart Serve
Ability to work PM and AM shifts, including weekends and holidays. Must be flexible. Weekend shifts are required
Responsibilities as Bistro Attendant:
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and according to HACCP guidelines.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food.
Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles and according to quality standards and presentation.
Provide assistance in food & beverage areas, including busing, cleaning and resetting tables.
Operate the electronic cash register/P.O.S. system.(Micros)
Take and serve guest orders promptly and according to our service standards
Do all necessary set-up side-work as assigned.
Answer any guest questions about the menu.
Follow the first in first out FIFO rule.
Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment.
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers to prepare food.
Perform any other job related duties as assigned
Bartending experience is an asset
Responsibilities as Guest Service Agent:
Welcome and check-in guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Assist guests with inquiries and provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of guest information and transactions.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest needs are met.
Manage phone systems effectively, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
As a guest service agent you will be registering arriving guests and assigning rooms
Answer phone calls in accordance with standards of proper telephone etiquette. Block rooms and handle special requests
Processing group/ regular guest arrivals and departures
Take, cancel and change room reservations
Provide information on hotel facilities and services
Provide general information about points of interest in the area
Investigate and resolve complaints and claims
Handle safe deposits by guests per established procedures.
Keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable.
Process guests departures, calculate charges and receive payments accurately.
Close shift by balancing cash and completing related forms.
Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
Follow emergency and safety procedures, clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
Requirements
Previous experience in the hotel industry. Marriott experience is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Must be able to do food preparation techniques and safety standards.
Ability to operate a POS system (Micros) effectively.
FOSSE reservation system is an asset
Knowledge of sanitation practices in food handling is a plus.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
