Position Description

As a Biomedical Engineering Technologist I, you will be required to participate in and contribute to the medical equipment management program of the Department.
Here's What You'll Do
Repair and maintain low and mid-risk medical equipment at the component or board level
Request support during periods of clinical difficulty at the patient bedside
Provide preventive maintenance to designated patient care equipment, as well as assist in the overall medical equipment management to ensure performance and safety
Maintain accurate documentation of all the work performed according to acceptable standards of practice
Participate in departmental initiatives as required
Here's What You'll Need
A three year community college diploma as an Electronics Technologist
One year post graduate training in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent
You will be, or are eligible to be, a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT)
Electronic Engineering Technologist with 3 years of job-related experience in lieu of Biomedical Engineering Technology education may be considered
Knowledgeable with electronics and troubleshooting, with in-depth knowledge of applicable safety codes and standards
A high-level understanding of anatomy, physiology, and patient care
Solid communications and customer relations skills
Ability to quickly learn and understand new medical equipment that may be presented
Top-notch planning and organization skills with the ability to multi-task and change priorities frequently under short notice
Excellent analytical acumen, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Exemplary skills in relationship-building and communication to establish trust and confidence with diverse hospital partners
A highly collaborative, collegial, and flexible approach to work
Results-oriented with a commitment to excellence
