The BIM Coordinator / Revit designer is accountable for possesses a full understanding of BIM formwork models and will be the subject matter expert regarding BIM related technical planning and BIM forming projects, based on Revit software. He/she provides strong leadership, technical direction and supports implementation of BIM strategy within Doka Canada technical offices. Ensures that the users represent the proper use of BIM formwork modeling for customers. He/she produces formwork drawings and material lists that represent the proper use of Doka Canada concrete forming equipment for customers, provides technical assistance to the sales department from the preliminary stage of a project to its completion.

Reporting Structure

This position requires you to report to:

Directly: Head of Engineering, Country

Indirectly: Head of Engineering, Branch / Branch Manager

As Required: Managing Director(s) of Canada and the Head of Human Resources - Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordination and managing the BIM formwork models.
  • Manages the internal communication of BIM-Planning requests for Doka Canada.
  • Relied upon as the communication link between the BIM-Technicians and customers.
  • Analyzes the market needs and requirements.
  • Works closely with the customer, understands and is able to clearly communicate the contractor requirements
  • Define the strategic BIP (BIM Implementation Plan) and operational BEP (BIM Execution Plan) for Doka Canada in cooperation with CC BIM (Austria)
  • Convert 2D structural drawings into Revit 3D models; Create Revit families for Standard / Custom Formwork elements
  • Support project demands with solutions and application drawings along with appropriate data for the customer.
  • Share information, best practices and examples within Doka Canada team.
  • Support of Sales and Engineers at customer meetings.
  • Conduct trainings for Revit software usage for engineering staff
Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions:
  • Visits job sites as required, identifies any improper implementation and takes action to ensure technical solutions are immediately implemented. Able to travel domestically and internationally on occasion.
  • Service job sites for the correct use of 3D-BIM formwork models.
  • Ensures safe working practices and a safe working environment.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned, such as participating in company committees/teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in engineering (civil, construction, or structural) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using 3D-BIM software (Revit, Tekla, NavisWorks, and others)
  • Extensive formwork experience
  • Able to set priorities, change priorities to meet the business needs and schedule projects while managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with vast experience in 3D-BIM software
  • Experienced in AutoCAD, 3D software and computer applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Willing and able to learn new products, concepts and techniques.
  • Organized team player with strong leadership skills and excellent time management skills. Able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
Problem Solving

This position requires the ability to support the engineering and sales function within the office and at times in the customer environment, solving design and field problems on short notice with minimal information.

Communication

Extensive daily interaction with internal colleagues, management and customers.

Mental Effort

Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to be organized and to manage time to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

Working conditions vary from that of an office environment: dry, cool, well lit, to outside conditions (equipment yard or job site), high noise level in certain areas, extreme outdoor temperatures.
