BIM Coordinator
Nor-Tec Group is a full service electrical contractor. We have been servicing Winnipeg and the far reaches of Manitoba for over 35 years. Our experience has been from Institutional, Industrial, and Municipal projects and a variety of Manufacturing Plan projects. We are well versed in servicing all electrical needs for a wide variety of clients.
Nor-Tec Group is growing, and we are looking for an individual to assist our BIM/Field staff in creating as-built models for Prefabrication and layouts. This is an entry level position with room to grow.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist onsite foreman\xe2\x80\x99s with layouts. Adding additional details such as: Drawings; Modeling\xe2\x80\x99s from sketches; and Adding quantity schedules for estimating purposes.
  • Coordinating with Pre-fabrication in creating schedules and spool sheets.
  • Set up models on BIM 360 platform and set up view and sheets with Nor-Tec Group\xe2\x80\x99s templates and standards.
  • Export points from CAD/BIM models to total station.
  • Layout the exported points on-site
  • Train field staff on CAD Revit.
  • Play an active role in WBIMC community.
  • Facilitate construction by applying BIM and CAD technologies in the design phase.
  • Offer cross-team support for BIM software.
  • Collaborate with the design team and other departments to identify goals and communicate procedural changes.
  • Monitor and Maintain overall health of construction models, and templates.
  • Assist in creating or modifying REVIT families as needed for layouts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills of the position would include:
  • Knowledge in Autodesk, REVIT, CAD, Navisworks/switchback, BIM360 design, and Evolve MEP platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft based programs. Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams.
  • Experience in completing assigned tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
  • Proven ability to think critically and resolve conflicts that may arise between shared information with sub-trades.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and independently.

Assets:
  • Knowledge in Construction and Electrical industry, and/or currently enrolled in a registered co-op program (Architectural and/or Construction Management program) is an asset. A combination of skills, experience and education are considered.
