Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Hybrid.

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Controller, the Billing Clerk provides detailed analysis of individual physician billing activity to provide insight and suggestions to assist physicians in being fully compensated for activities performed.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Physician Support/ Billing:

  • Prepare physician payroll and reporting.
  • Prepare physician bonuses.
  • Provide physicians with billing support and training as required.
  • Responsible for developing automated algorithms to continuously monitor physician billing habits to assist this position in providing communication plans to physicians.
  • Develops automated method of monitoring physician billing activity.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity to improve billing habits.
  • Continuous learning for changes to billing rules around provincial health and WCB.
  • Meets with individual physicians to discuss opportunities to improve billing.
  • Attends clinics on a weekly basis to provide face to face billing support to physicians.
  • Provides communication to physicians and operations regarding billing changes and updates.
  • Responsible for becoming subject matter expert in billing rules for all provinces Medicentres operates in.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years experience in an AR/AP role.
  • Experience with AB Health billing process an asset.
  • Post Secondary Diploma or Degree.
  • Skilled in data mining and analysis using custom software and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and other departments within the organization.
