Join the Office of the Enterprise Data Governance team where we lead our digital transformation by improving data quality and integrity to accelerate housing affordability. We\'re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation, and partnerships. In this role, you will support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a Business Information Model (BIM) for all of CMHC\'s data. You will also help the organization realize the full value of its data assets and capabilities, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient sharing of data across CMHC.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads and conducts the identification, documentation, and approval of requirements from business and technical teams for the implementation of business information model, data domains, data subdomains and data model solutions.
  • Lead the evaluation of existing data systems.
  • Work with the data management team, vendors, and business subject matter experts to create conceptual business information models, data models and data flows.
  • Contributes to the continuous revision of the business information model, identifying and capturing all types of data that CMHC creates and uses regardless of where it comes from (systems, sources), how it is used, and where it is stored.
  • Lead the documentation of roles and responsibilities around data (who consumes, who produces, etc.) to help the data governance team determine business ownership and stewardship of the data.
  • Lead the deployment of the Business Information Model to a data governance tool such as Collibra to facilitate the creation of data domains and their associated glossaries.
  • Conducts research and analysis on proposed legislative/regulatory changes, industry-leading practices, employee needs and technological advances to determine requirements for governing and managing data.
  • Supports the definition and ensures the effective implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field such as computer science, finance, or commerce and a minimum of 7 years of experience in Data Governance and/or Data management processes and technology.
  • Master\'s degree in a data-related subject and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Governance and/or Data management processes and technology will also be considered.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with data modelling and data architecture.
  • 3 years of experience understanding and documenting business processes - understanding requirements and determine impact on data.
  • Implementing systems into production, from conceptual to support, in a variety of data-related projects (data migration, data quality implementation, data quality issue resolution, data policy implementation, data privacy, data security, data masking, data science, data engineering, master and reference data, data catalogue, etc.).
  • Experience with data governance, data warehouse and metadata management tools (preference Collibra).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical and systems thinking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Excellent ability to understand and align technical solutions to business goals.
  • Ability to manage external vendors relationships and working with remote teams.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with business architecture models.
  • Experience with reference data management tools (preference Collibra or Informatica).
  • Experience with data discovery and data profiling.
