The Team:

The Medical Authorization Centre (MAC) Pharmacy is responsible for making decisions concerning health needs for products that require authorization. In this role you will service various contracts and work as a member of an overall medical professional team.

The primary goal of this unit is to provide positive health care outcomes through on-line case assessment using computer technology.

Work location can be remote from home, and the hours of operation for this team range from Monday to Friday 6:45am to 8:30pm Atlantic Time.
We work a 7.5 hours workday, a 37.5 hour work week: No overnight, No weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make decisions concerning clients\xe2\x80\x99 health needs for products that require authorization
  • Administer process for special authorization decisions through the interactive use of telecommunications and applied on-line POS technology
  • Utilize your medical background, knowledge and experience to render decisions
  • Liaison with the customers and other health care professionals to ensure treatment requests are appropriately administered
  • Provide a positive and efficient customer service experience for providers and clients
  • Support positive health care outcomes through on-line case assessment using computer technology
  • In this position you will work various shifts between 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

Qualifications:
  • Education: Active Registered Nurse
  • Work Experience: Have practical nursing experience, including knowledge of medical conditions in relationship to pharmaceutical treatment
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Multi-tasker and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work shift work on a rotating basis
  • Computer Skills: possess strong computer skills or aptitude
  • Language Skills: Bilingualism (English and French) is required
