McMillan has an exciting opportunity as a Bilingual Learning and Development Specialist based in Montreal supporting our national offices

.

As a member of the L&D National Team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and facilitating training for onboarding new firm members in French and English, integrating technology into legal practice, and fostering professional development.


What You'll Do





You will be part of a team of National Learning Specialists whose Firm Members depend upon for guidance and support to keep them efficient and effective. Leveraging your professional experience, you will engage in a wide variety of activities, including:


Facilitate engaging on-site and virtual training in both French and English for new and existing Firm Members, ensuring their growth and development. Foster a supportive learning environment aligned with the Firm's values and strategies by providing tools and activities that promote professional development. Conduct technology-focused training sessions and coaching for lawyers and staff enhancing their skills and knowledge. Observe and evaluate participant performance during training, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their goals. Continuously improve learning programs based on participant feedback and recommendations. Assist with the creation and maintenance of course curriculum and courseware in French and English, ensuring they meet the needs of the learners. Participate in implementation meetings, pilot/testing groups, and train-the-trainer sessions for strategic projects, collaborating with team members. Work with the Manager, Learning Delivery to identify training needs for projects/rollouts/implementations and create learning support materials as required. Contribute to new learning initiatives and approaches, working with the Firm's Enterprise Project Management Office and key stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate learning solutions.

What You Bring




Fluently bilingual in English and French; exceptional communication skills Minimum of 3 years' experience in Learning & Development or Adult Education Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent required Certificate or Diploma in Adult Education (completed or in progress) is an asset Practical experience in teaching technology for adults within a professional services (legal, engineering, accounting) environment Sound knowledge of adult learning principles, learning styles, instructional design, instructor-led facilitation and evaluation methods Demonstrated enthusiasm and energy to create an enjoyable work environment for all Firm members Strong ability to build respectful and professional relationships Ability to embrace evolving technology and strong experience in change management Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Expertise in eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate360, Rise, and Camtasia Working knowledge of virtual delivery platforms, including Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), legal technology in a legal professional or legal support roles considered an asset
