Crisis Centre North Bay is looking for an energetic, independent professional with strong leadership qualities to work in our Housing and Homelessness Programs on a permanent full-time basis as the Housing Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the Northern Pines Housing Programs Supervisor, the Housing Coordinator oversees general occupant housing concerns to help ensure housing sustainability and promote housing retention at Northern Pines. Furthermore, the Housing Coordinator, under the same supervision, will be responsible for the management of all intakes and interviews of applications for Northern Pines I and II.
Hours of Operation:
The Housing Coordinator will work 40 hours per week. This position will work regular weekdays as well as some evening and weekend shifts. There may also be times that this staff member will be required to work frontline shifts within the Housing and Homelessness Programs as needed. These programs operate 24 hours per day 7 days a week and there may be the requirement to work shifts that includes days, evenings, weekends and overnights.
Qualifications:
College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant social service field
1 year residential experience preferred working with persons who may be living with mental health and addictions challenges who are experiencing homelessness or in a DV shelter. Will consider applicants with current working experience in related CCNB programs.
Exemplary emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills; both verbal and in written format
Attention to detail in regards to clear, accurate and professional documentation within case files, statistics and information database entires
Knowledge of navigating community resources related to housing, mental health and addictions and financial resources and supports
Strong collaboration and advocacy skills, both within the organization and with relevant community partners
Excellent judgement, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability
Ability to establish, support and motivate goal setting
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to form and maintain strong professional relationships
Crisis prevention and intervention and conflict resolution experience and skills are considered an asset
SPDAT training considered an asset, however relevant training will be provided
Position is designated bilingual (French/English)
