Manulife is looking for a professional Benefits Calculation Analyst with strong customer service skills and a knack for numbers to join their team. Reporting to the Supervisor the Calculation Analyst is accountable for the accurate and efficient payment of LTD benefits.

The CAF LTD Team is comprised of dedicated individuals who work to support veterans that have been medically released from the Canadian Armed Forces. The team routinely works with plan members who have complex medical conditions with a goal of helping them complete their transition to civilian life which may include civilian employment.

The incumbent will work closely with internal resources as well as external partners. The Calculation Analyst will be a technical resource to the Case Manager when applicable.

Key Accountabilities:

Bilingual, French and English communication

Approve new LTD claims in a timely and effective manner

Calculate applicable offset(s) to LTD benefits

Calculate the LTD Benefit, as applicable

Financial adjustments, as required,

Negotiate payment schedules directly with Members

Accurately code the correct benefit information

Liaise with LTD Case Managers on the status of the client benefits

Answer benefit related questions from Members

Key Attributes

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Attention to detail and accuracy is critical

Superb data entry skills and Proficiency with MS Excel is required

Ability to analyze and solve complex calculations

Ability to interpret policy language

Good understanding and appreciation of the Group Benefits environment and its clients; as well as the Canadian Armed Forces would be considered an asset.

Excellent customer service skills and takes accountability for customer requests or issues

Positively impacts team and inter-departmental relationships and works to resolve conflicts with tact and diplomacy

Superb organization skills, ability to multi-task and work under time pressures

Solution-oriented and demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making skills

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role in the primary location of CAN, Nova Scotia - Full Time Remote is expected to be between $35,775.00 CAD - $59,625.00 CAD.
