Job Description

The primary role of this position is develop, manage, and deliver Express Scripts Canada pharmacy benefit management services and programs. The Clinical Pharmacist provides leadership to the Prior Authorization Program and collaborates with cross-functional committees to deliver high quality and clinically sound products and formularies. The role is responsible for contributing specialized clinical knowledge to the direction of existing and new products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide strategic direction and clinical expertise to guide the implementation, communication, education and maintenance of clinical programs and formularies

Serve as clinical thought-leader on the Drug Plan Validation Committee, providing knowledge transfer to Express Scripts Canada customers (insurance carriers and third party administrators) on complex clinical topics

Provide leadership to the Prior Authorization program and review Prior Authorization requests, including gathering medical information, making coverage decisions, and communicating with patients, physicians or pharmacists as required

Interact with internal and external customers to provide insights on pharmacy practice, drug trends, medical advances and legislation

Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient status within the operations systems. Comply to ESC policies and procedures to safeguard personal information (PI) and personal health information (PHI).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Pharmacy; license to practice pharmacy in a province of Canada

Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in direct patient care, drug evaluation, and/or drug information activities

Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite of tools, with database experience a plus

Knowledge of the private/public reimbursement or managed care experience would be considered an asset

Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and tactfully

Superior analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities to optimize reimbursement and improve health outcomes

Effective facilitation and presentation skills

Knowledge and experience in areas of Neurology/Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, or Oncology.

Must be self-empowered and self-managed, but also must exhibit teamwork

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt in a dynamic fast-paced work environment.

Responsabilit\xc3\xa9s principales

Fournir l\xe2\x80\x99orientation strat\xc3\xa9gique et l\xe2\x80\x99expertise clinique n\xc3\xa9cessaires \xc3\xa0 la mise en \xc5\x93uvre, \xc3\xa0 la communication et \xc3\xa0 la gestion des programmes cliniques et des listes de m\xc3\xa9dicaments, et sensibiliser les patients \xc3\xa0 ce sujet.

Agir \xc3\xa0 titre de sp\xc3\xa9cialiste clinique au sein du comit\xc3\xa9 d\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9valuation des r\xc3\xa9gimes d\xe2\x80\x99assurance m\xc3\xa9dicaments, transmettre ses connaissances aux clients d\xe2\x80\x99Express Scripts Canada (assureurs et tiers administrateurs) sur des sujets cliniques complexes.

G\xc3\xa9rer le programme d\xe2\x80\x99autorisation pr\xc3\xa9alable et examiner les demandes d\xe2\x80\x99autorisation pr\xc3\xa9alable, ce qui comprend la collecte de renseignements m\xc3\xa9dicaux. Prendre les d\xc3\xa9cisions li\xc3\xa9es \xc3\xa0 la couverture pr\xc3\xa9vue par un r\xc3\xa9gime et communiquer avec les patients, les m\xc3\xa9decins ou les pharmaciens, au besoin.

Interagir avec les clients internes et externes et leur fournir des renseignements utiles sur l\xe2\x80\x99exercice de la pharmacie, les tendances en mati\xc3\xa8re de m\xc3\xa9dicaments, les progr\xc3\xa8s de la m\xc3\xa9decine et les lois.

S\xe2\x80\x99assurer que les renseignements sur l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9tat des patients sont exacts, complets et consign\xc3\xa9s en temps voulu dans les syst\xc3\xa8mes de l\xe2\x80\x99entreprise. Respecter les politiques et les m\xc3\xa9thodes d\xe2\x80\x99Express Scripts Canada visant \xc3\xa0 prot\xc3\xa9ger les renseignements personnels et les renseignements personnels sur la sant\xc3\xa9.

Qualification

\xc3\x8atre titulaire d\xe2\x80\x99un baccalaur\xc3\xa9at en pharmacie et d\xe2\x80\x99un permis d\xe2\x80\x99exercice de la pharmacie dans une province au Canada.

\xc3\x8atre bilingue (anglais et fran\xc3\xa7ais) constitue un atout.

Poss\xc3\xa9der un minimum de deux ann\xc3\xa9es d\xe2\x80\x99exp\xc3\xa9rience en soins directs aux patients, en \xc3\xa9valuation des m\xc3\xa9dicaments et \xc3\xaatre en mesure de communiquer des renseignements sur les m\xc3\xa9dicaments.

Poss\xc3\xa9der des connaissances approfondies de la suite MS Office. Poss\xc3\xa9der des connaissances en bases de donn\xc3\xa9es constitue un atout.

Conna\xc3\xaetre les dispositions relatives aux remboursements offerts par les r\xc3\xa9gimes priv\xc3\xa9s ou publics ou poss\xc3\xa9der de l\xe2\x80\x99exp\xc3\xa9rience en gestion de soins de sant\xc3\xa9 constitue un atout.
