We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Biology and Biochemistry Tutor to provide personalized academic support to students of various ages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biological sciences, be skilled in curriculum development, and possess the ability to engage students effectively. This role involves creating tailored lesson plans, utilizing learning technology, and fostering an inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards in biology and biochemistry.
Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for students, focusing on areas such as organic chemistry, microbiology, genetics, and physiology.
Utilize various teaching methods and learning technologies to enhance student understanding and retention of complex concepts.
Assist students with homework assignments, exam preparation, and project work in subjects including math, statistics, calculus, and algebra.
Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management techniques.
Collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Requirements
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching biology, biochemistry, or related subjects at various educational levels.
Strong knowledge of biological sciences including anatomy, physiology, organic chemistry, microbiology, and genetics.
Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum development and lesson planning techniques.
Experience working with high school and university students in educational settings; experience in special education is a plus.
Strong computer skills with the ability to utilize educational software and online resources effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English and French.with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
