Salary: $61,560 - $72,675
Location: ON SITE - Marieville, Qc
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Scope of the Role and Responsibilities
The Accounting Specialist performs various accounting and clerical assignments. Responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, performing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks in an ERP system, and processing accounting transactions accurately. The Accounting Specialist serves as the backup for the Accounts Receivable/Payables.

1. Responsible for reconciling cash daily and maintaining the monthly bank reconciliation.
2. Full cycle Accounts Payable-Reconcile vendor invoices against purchase order receipts, enter invoices in the ERP system, and process the payments according to the due date.
3. Maintain and reconcile company purchasing card for the Canadian operations.
4. Provide a weekly disbursement forecast to the Controller.
5. File monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns.
6. Research customer and supplier account discrepancies by pulling order confirmations and proof of deliveries, researching customer complaints, and coordinating communication across multiple departments.
7. Attend weekly accounting meetings with the Controller and CFO.
8. Analyze customer spend, payment history, and collection notes to set credit limits and release orders that will put a customer over their limit. Responsible for communicating findings to the sales team.
9. Review and close manufacturing jobs daily.
10. Work with the operations team to correct manufacturing variances on completed jobs.
11. Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
12. Oversees Canadian compliance including statistics reports, and government surveys and filings.
13. Assist Controller with the month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and error corrections.

3 Must Haves:

1. Associate degree in accounting or finance or 5+ years experience.
2. 2-3 year relative experience
3. Speak English and French
