Reporting to the VP - People, Culture & Community, the Manager, North America Benefits & Mobility will be responsible for end-to-end management of employee benefits and mobility programs for Canada and the US. This role is a unique blend of strategic program design and hands-on administration. You will ensure our programs remain competitive, compliant, and aligned to our company culture, while also supporting employees in navigating mobility, immigration, and relocation processes.

Job requirements
7+ years of experience in benefits management, mobility, or total rewards, with significant exposure to both Canada and US programs.
Strong understanding of Canadian and US medical, wellness, and retirement plan design and compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience with work permits, visas, and relocation support.
Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate favourable terms.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to employees and leadership.
Highly proficient in MS Office specifically; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Outlook
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, service providers and employees
Thorough research and problem-solving skills
Superior time management and multitasking skills with a strong sense of urgency
Passionate and confident individual with demonstrated organization, prioritization and critical thinking skills
Proven active listening and speaking skills
Experience with problem solving in complex projects that have a company-wide impact
Job responsibilities
Benefits Program Design & Administration
Manage the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of North American medical and wellness benefit programs (Canada and US).
Oversee retirement program design and administration, including RRSP, TFSA, and 401(k) plans.
Evaluate, benchmark, and recommend benefit enhancements to support attraction, retention, and engagement.
Partner with brokers, vendors, and insurers to ensure quality service delivery and cost efficiency.
Manage annual renewals, open enrolment processes, and employee communications.
Global Mobility & Immigration
Oversee and manage all global mobility activities, including international assignments, cross-border moves, and permanent relocations.
Develop IREN's Global mobility framework, policy and procedure
Partner with immigration attorneys to manage work permits, visas, and other compliance requirements.
Provide direct support to relocating employees, ensuring a smooth transition experience.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration, tax, and employment regulations impacting mobility in Canada and the US.
General
Serve as the subject matter expert for benefits and mobility policies, processes, and systems.
Build strong internal partnerships with payroll, finance, and legal teams.
Monitor and report on program metrics, costs, and employee feedback.
