Benefits And Payroll Administrator

Seeking for a Part Time Benefits and Payroll Administrator to join Sunshine Village Corporation in our Calgary office. This individual will be the liaison between employees and our benefit provider. The role would encompass 70% Benefits and 30% Payroll.

Benefits:
  • Process enrollments, terminations, and changes through IA Financial\xe2\x80\x99s GroupNet for Plan Administration;
  • Ongoing monitoring of eligibility for health, dental, disability and insurance benefits for new hires, rehires or those with status changes due to qualifying events;
  • Ensure employee deductions are accurate and timely and conducts regular internal audits of employee changes within the payroll system;
  • Assist employees with general benefit questions and educate members on how to use their benefits, submit claims, etc.
  • Answer and/or direct routine enquiries from Human Resources and Management such as enrolment eligibility.
  • Troubleshoot employee benefit questions and claim issues with provider as necessary;
  • Reconcile monthly billing for benefit carrier and deductions from payroll for employee-paid premiums for data integrity and accuracy.
  • Assist in development and distribution of plan-related employee communication materials;
  • Coordinate with benefit providers on short-term and long-term disability claims.
  • Leads the full cycle short-term and long-term disability process and coordinates the return to work process;
  • Collaborate with the broker and insurance carrier to develop benefit materials.
  • Act as the first point of contact for key business relationships with Benefit providers;
  • Keeps informed and educated about benefits within the area of responsibility;
  • Complete benefit surveys and benchmarking studies as needed;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Payroll
  • Coordinate payroll activities to ensure pay data is compiled, processed, and reconciled in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with established schedules, company policies and government legislation;
  • Respond to requests from employees, supervisors, managers and others on policy and procedures, investigate and resolve pay-related enquiries and requests for ad-hoc reports and information.
  • Process all payroll transactions through Ceridian Dayforce and identify routine and/or recurring processing problems/issues and seek to resolve these in a timely manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in benefits administration;
  • Experience working with Ceridian\xe2\x80\x99s Dayforce payroll systems would be an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
  • Meticulous attention to accuracy, detail, organization and confidentiality;
  • Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive business and employee information;
  • Advanced analytical, critical thinking and research skills with the ability to problem solve.
  • Knowledge of Benefits best practices.
