Position Overview:

Working in a rapidly growing, fast paced environment, the Benefit Administrator will report directly to the HR Operations Manager, and will be responsible for overseeing the employee benefit lifecycle. The incumbent will work closely with Operation Leaders, Payroll and HR Team members to ensure benefit enrollment, tracking, maintenance and reconciliation for all eligible existing and new employees of the company remains current with best practices and compliant with legislative and corporate requirements. Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days offsite) may be considered after 3 months of successful integration into the position.

Primary Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

  • Lead full group benefit administration of new and existing employees including overseeing employee eligibility and compliance with the Group Benefit Plan requirements
  • Liaise with Service Providers regarding administration of group benefits
  • Follow up with Operation Leaders and Employees regarding enrollment and other matters pertaining to the Group Benefit Plan
  • Maintain and update employee records and benefits files
  • Support employees by responding to inquiries and coaching on use of Group Insurance online portal
  • Collaborate with payroll and ensure that payroll deductions are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Review and reconcile monthly invoice to the General Ledger and collect owing arrears
Leave of Absence Maintenance and Tracking:
  • Manage and maintain employees on leaves of absence and accommodation plans
  • Draft and provide letters confirming leave details, benefit entitlement particulars, and payments/arrears where applicable
  • Liaise with Operations Leaders, Employees and Third Party Claims management firm for all medical leaves of absence
  • Oversee non-occupational return-to-work plans and accommodation program
  • Manage application process for waiver of premiums
  • Maintain accurate tracking pertaining to all company employees on leave
Additional
  • Key point of contact for company RSP program and subsequent initiatives
  • Issue ad hoc monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Acts as an ambassador of VTS on and off company property
  • Helps increase VTS\'s visibility within the community by participating in company sponsored events
  • Is willing to participate in education upgrading as required
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
  • Completion of a University or College Education or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Clean Criminal Record Search
  • In-depth knowledge of Benefit Administration
  • Experience with Payroll and ADP considered an asset
  • Experience with Management of Disability Claims/Accommodation Programs considered an asset
  • Complete proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other common applications
  • Detail oriented with superior communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Team Player
