Job Description


Position Scope

Reporting to BNA Shop Supervisor, you will assume responsibility for Remanufacturing heavy equipment drivetrain components & hydraulic cylinders.

Schedule is 7x7 (to start shift will be 5x2 for up to 60 days for training purposes)

We have different levels of Bench Hand, based on successful candidates qualifications rate will be determined based on experience.

Bench Hand I - $26.21 - 28.40

Bench Hand II - $29.49 \xe2\x80\x93 31.67

Bench Hand III - $33.86 \xe2\x80\x93 36.04

Successful candidates will have to join the Operating Engineers Local 955.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in morning PSI Meeting.
  • Participate in Weekly Safety Meeting.
  • Disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of major components for heavy equipment. Front corner groups, Final Drive, Hydraulic cylinders, and rear suspensions.
  • Lead team by example, demonstrating the proper procedures and processes to follow
  • Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is properly used and maintained.
  • Review safe work plans / hazard assessment prior to job commencement.
  • Participate in incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.
  • Interpret workorders and technical manuals/ documentation. This includes following work instructions
  • Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed.
  • Move parts by operating overhead cranes, forklifts, loaders and carts.
  • Document parts that are needed using the part number and appropriate description
  • Maintain a clean, safe facility and work area.
  • Determine assemble/disassemble process by reading and following work instructions, understanding drawings and schematics, and safe work procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge about maintenance, and a general knowledge of mechanical aspects or equivalent work experience.
  • High school diploma
  • Must have valid class 5 driver\'s license
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Always demonstrate safety
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Basic computer literacy/skills.
  • Exerience around heavy equipment is an asset.

  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
  • Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  • Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check
