Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Belt Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial conveyor systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of machinery by performing both routine and emergency maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities

• Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial conveyors and their associated components, such as rollers and guards, following detailed layout plans.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to guide work procedures for various machines, including high-frequency and CNC machines.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as forklifts, small cranes, and jacks, to accurately position machinery and parts during fabrication and setup.
• Inspect conveyor belts to identify and troubleshoot irregularities, malfunctions, and mis-tracking issues.
• Perform installations, adjustments, repairs, and replacements of defective parts using techniques like vulcanization for heavy-duty belts.
• Operate machine tools, such as grinders, to prepare parts like shims and conveyor belts for maintenance or setup.
• Disassemble and reassemble parts of machinery and equipment using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Execute general belt fabrication tasks, including cutting to length, lacing, finger splicing, and slitting.
• Operate specialized mechanical tools, such as a "come along," to stretch and secure tight belts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Requirement

• Previous experience as an industrial machine operator is required.
• Manufacturing experience an asset
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. A technical or trade school certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in reading and comprehending shop orders and technical drawings written in English.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret various measuring devices, including tape measures, calipers, and scales.
• Strong basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and the metric system.
• Must possess a valid **G Driver's License** or a reliable transportation to get to work
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $21 to $22 per hour, depending on profile and experience.
Work Schedule: This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Shift: Morning shift only, from 8 am to 5 pm. This is not a rotating shift.
