Position Overview


As a Bell Staff Co-Op Intern at Cabot Cape Breton, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional guest service from the moment they arrive. Your responsibilities include warmly welcoming guests, assisting with their luggage, and escorting them to their accommodations with a friendly and professional demeanour. You will also provide information about the resort's facilities and services, ensuring guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience. Additionally, you may assist with transportation arrangements, coordinate luggage storage, and help with special requests. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and willingness to go the extra mile will contribute to creating a positive first impression, setting the stage for a memorable stay at Cabot Cape Breton. This is an opportunity to gain real world experience at one of Canada's leading hospitality brands, working side by side on the front lines with other hotel operations professionals.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

Enrollment in a hotel or hospitality training program at a post-secondary institution Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to work cohesively as part of a team Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Valid driver's license Verbal and written communication skills


Requirements of the role you should be aware of:

Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years. As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work. There may be interactions with patrons who are impaired. Long periods of standing waiting for guests to arrive. Occasionally working outdoors in all weather conditions. Lifting and carrying golf clubs and luggage up to 50 lbs with occasional weight of 75 Occasional ascending and descending of stairs and ramps. Occasional kneeling, scooping, pushing, pulling, bending, crouching, crawling and twisting. To provide the best service to our guests, you should be able to drive a golf cart with luggage and passengers.
