Lady of Learning Tutoring is looking for a patient, reliable, and experienced
1:1 Behavioural Support Tutor
to work with a child in
Grade 2
who is being
homeschooled 4 days/week 9-12pm starting last week of August-December at Port Credit
. This role is ideal for someone with a
background in ABA therapy or experience working with children with behavioural challenges
, including
ADHD and OCD
.
The tutor will be teaching the child at their home in a designated "school" environment, following the
Ontario curriculum
. This is a
part-time role
(3-4 hours/day, 4 days/week)
and requires a
strong commitment to routine, communication, and lesson planning
.
Duties
Teach daily 1:1 lessons in
Math, English, Art, and life skills
Create structured, engaging lesson plans based on the child's needs
Maintain a
calm, consistent, school-like environment
in the home
Support behavioural, emotional, and academic development
Encourage routine and focus through patience and redirection techniques
Communicate clearly and consistently with the parent and Lady of Learning
Track student progress and adjust learning plans as needed
Requirements
Born in Canada
and
educated in Ontario
(familiarity with Ontario curriculum is essential)
Experience working with children with
ADHD, OCD, or behavioural needs
Ability to prepare lessons and guide students in
a homeschool setting
Access to a reliable vehicle
for travel to the student's home
Available
4x/week for 3-4 hours per day
(during daytime hours)
Strong communication skills and a calm, patient demeanor
Assets (Nice to Have):
Background in
ABA therapy

child psychology
, or
special education
Experience in
homeschooling, tutoring
, or
teaching Grades 1-5
Creative in developing activities that engage and support behaviour management
Knowledge of how to incorporate social-emotional and life skills into academic learning
