Job description

This role is responsible for supporting the program goals of children or youth with autism by carrying out the programming and objectives found in the Service Plan, in collaboration with the clinical team (Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Analysts) and parents. This is a great introductory position for those interested in pursuing careers in education or special education, rehabilitation, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, behaviour analysis, or psychology.

We are looking for interventionists to work in various areas of Calgary as well as in Chestermere.

We offer a flexible schedule designed to fit your needs. You can choose your weekly hours, typically between 6 and 15 hours per week. Shifts are available in the afternoon or early evening, providing flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Each shift lasts 2 to 3 hours, with occasional opportunities for back-to-back shifts.

Requirements include:

• Experience working or volunteering with children in a home or community setting
• Interest in working with children with special needs
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Post-secondary education in progress is preferred
• Clean Police Vulnerable Sector & Child Intervention Check (dated within 6 months) is required as a condition of employment
• First Aid with CPR
• Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Ability to easily engage in gross motor and fine motor movements throughout a shift
