ABOUT THE ROLE



Anderson Therapy Services (ATS) is currently seeking one (1)

Behaviour Therapy Assistant (BTA)

for our Behaviour Therapy Team as the demand for our services continues to grow. The

BTA

position works on our multidisciplinary team to support children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families in the provision of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services. ABA services include group and/ or individual sessions in the areas of communication skills, behaviour management/ emotional regulation, social/ interpersonal skills and daily living skills.

Salary Range: Pay: $25.22 - $31. 25 per hour

Job Types: Full Time, Fixed term contract (12 or 18 Months)

Work Location- Hybrid Remote in Dundas Office

Key Responsibilities



Under the supervision of the Registered Behaviour Analyst (ONT)./ BCBA, design and implement individualized treatment plans, behavioural support plans and strategies

Under the direct supervision of the RBA/BCBA, develop new programs and perform ongoing adjustments to current programs as needed

Implement individualized treatment plans, behavioral support plans and strategies

Work with clients virtually - in remote Indigenous communities using virtual care technology.

Work with clients in the Dundas office (Hybrid Model).

Collaborate with other clinicians from other disciplines to provide a strong continuum of care for clients.

Keep accurate digital client files and maintain the confidentiality of client information and situations

Work closely with children, as well as parents, caregivers, teachers and other support workers

Able to travel by plane to remote Northern First Nations Communities 4-6 times per year for up to 5 consecutive days

Qualifications



THE "MUST HAVES"

The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

3-year or 1-year post graduate Community College Diploma in Behavioural Science or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

2 years of experience working with children and youth with autism using the principles of ABA.

Knowledge of the autism spectrum disorder with understanding of the principles of applied behavior analysis.

Knowledge of services provided within autism services as well as organization-wide services.

Understanding of Ontario Autism Program (current and historical information) - have a general understanding of the ministry changes, Ontario Autism Program funding options and how that will affect the clients and their delivery of service.

Understanding of Professional and Compliance Code for Behaviour Analysis.

THE 'NICE TO HAVES'

Strong interest in working with First Nation Children.

Start as soon as possible.

Skilled in completing formal and informal assessments, and identifying client-centered treatment goals

Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Metis people, history, intergenerational trauma, culture, health priorities and social issues impacting mental health

Possess the flexibility and time-management skills necessary to manage an ever-changing caseload

Flexibility, problem solving skills, creativity, and organizational/time management skills

Strong computer skills and familiarity with video conference software (e.g., Zoom), Canva and the Microsoft Office ecosystem (e.g., TEAMS, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Availability to work days, evenings and some Saturdays based on sign up when groups are available (hours are within Monday- Friday 9am - 5pm otherwise.
