Position Type / Hours:

Full-Time Temporary until June 26, 2026. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 35 hours weekly, plus overtime as required

Annual Compensation:

$69,302 to $86,903 commensurate with education, skills and experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of behavioural support services and work collaboratively with a SMCDSB Behaviour Analyst. The Behaviour Support Technician (BST) will provide support to school teams for students who may be referred to a Behaviour Analyst. The BST will conduct student observations and collect and graph data for review by the Behaviour Analyst. The BST will model and train on Behaviour Analyst- directed program implementation for all educational staff supporting the student. The BST will support school teams with creation of resources (e.g., token boards, visuals, visual schedules, reinforcement systems) as determined by the Behaviour Analyst. The BST will assist in monitoring skill maintenance of students throughout the course of the Behaviour Analyst consultation services. The BST will coordinate and facilitate Applied Behavioural Analysis driven, evidence-based social skill groups for students with social, behavioral, and/or adaptive functioning challenges. The BST may also be required to assist in delivering training to Board staff (e.g., behavioural data collection; implementation of fundamental ABA strategies etc.).

Required Skills and Qualifications:



The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role:

Autism and Behavioural Science Diploma, Behavioural Science Diploma, or relevant Diploma in the field of applied behaviour analysis. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an ABA-related role Experience with the delivery of behaviour analytic services (IBI, ABA, ABA consultation) Experience with the delivering training on behaviour analytic program implementation Experience providing behavioural supports to children and youth in a multidisciplinary setting Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Competent with computer programs, in particular graphing with Excel or Sheets
The following would be considered an asset:

Experience working within a school system Certification in Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) Training or related crisis intervention training (e.g., NVCPI; UMAB) Membership with a professional organization (e.g. ONTABA)
