Job Summary

Tiny Hearts Childcare Centre is seeking a

caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant (ECA)

to join our Before & After School (School Age) program. This role supports children before and after the school day by providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that encourages positive relationships and development.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with school-age children, value teamwork, and are comfortable working split shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Support children in the

Before and After School (School Age) program

Supervise daily routines, transitions, and activities before and after school Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment Encourage positive social interactions and independence Assist with set-up, clean-up, and organization of program spaces Communicate respectfully with families and team members Follow all centre policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements
Qualifications

Must be

18 years of age or older

Experience working with children is an asset but not required Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable, patient, and nurturing approach Ability to work split shifts First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
Education

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
