Do you have a passion for brews? This opportunity might be for you! Willow Park Wines & Spirits is looking for an energetic individual with excellent customer service skills to take on the role of Beer Room Supervisor.
The Beer room supervisor is an essential component of delivering a high level of customer service and the WPWS customer experience. They will be responsible for leading the beer team on a daily basis. This position acts as the key educator for all staff.
Responsibilities
Takes ownership of all tasks related to the beer department. Ensures all tags, descriptions, merchandising, shelf re-alignments and placements, stock rotation, managing best before dates, and organizing event hosts for inside and outside events. Delegates tasks as needed to the Trusted Experts of the Beer Room within coordination of store operations through management.
Able to source out products that would enhance our customer experience. Assess trends and capitalize on opportunities.
Able to speak, teach and engage a group in events and classes on and offsite.
Curate customer base to grow business and teach and mentor junior staff to do the same.
Complete customer special orders and store transfers from start to finish and ensure accuracy of product. Communicate with customers on any issues and ability to offer substitutions.
Lead participant in inventory counts Responsible for tagging the beer rooms
Accountable for the inventory in beer department. Complete regular spot checks of product, report any missing or wrong inventory right away. Inform store management of any thefts or issues that could cause the inventory to be off. Must be able to investigate any large inventory discrepancies at regular inventories.
Coordinate the movement of stock from the warehouse to the store floor. Ensure cellar club and sales items are stocked and have full displays or back up cases upstairs.
Assist in building and take down of store displays and help the store with setup on special events such as Vinovember and Black Friday.
Must be available to work opening or closing shifts as needed. At times they may be requested to act as the opening or closing manager.
Maintain relationships with local vendors and forward new or exclusive beers. Clearly communicate this information to the purchasing team.
Capable to act as senior leader on the floor.
Other duties as required. (ie receiving orders, submitting invoices to purchasing, carry outs or ecommerce pick ups)
Qualifications
Practical experience and an understanding of domestic, craft and import beers.
Proven leader and mentor
Experience using material handling equipment such as hand jacks, power jacks, and dollies.
Basic Microsoft Office Skills
Strong time management skills
Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
Must have the ability to work independently and as a team.
Able to lift to fifty pounds.
Comfortable working on their feet for long periods of time.
Open availability as needed with evenings and weekends.
