About Us Beacon Pharmacy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgary Co-op and is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team. Calgary Co-op, owned by members, is one of the largest retail co-operatives in North America. Our locations in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, High River, Okotoks and Strathmore include food centres, pharmacies, gas stations, car washes, commercial cardlocks, home health care centres, wine, spirits and beer locations, and cannabis and acquired Community Natural Foods in 2019. Pharmacy Assistant Opportunity Beacon Pharmacy is currently seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team! The pharmacy assistant is responsible for providing superior pharmacy patient care in a friendly and professional manner. The successful candidate can work efficiently in a very quick paced complex clinic pharmacy and team environment. Reporting directly to the Pharmacy Manager, some of the Pharmacy Assistants main responsibilities are:

• Assist the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions
• Help in the management of dispensary inventories, through the ordering, receiving and rotating of stock and supplies, returning outdated and unsalable product, and assisting in the perpetual inventory processes
• To be familiar with all merchandise carried in the department, with merchandise normally carried in pharmacies, as well as to be aware of new products and trends pertaining to the pharmaceutical and retail industry
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

What skills and abilities will you need to be considered?

• Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of experience and education
• Completed a recognized post-secondary Pharmacy Assistant Program
• Must be fluent in English (CLBA-Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment score of 5 or higher)

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with Kroll Pharmacy software
• Previous work history as a pharmacy assistant
• Experience using a Point of Sale system
