Your Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a successful candidate to become a Business Center Practice Leader (BCPL) for Stantec\'s Atlantic Canada Environmental Services team. The BCPL is responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of excellent work to our clients. Accountable for the top line, the BCPL leads the growth of the Business Center (BC) and Stantec\'s market position while providing innovative design solutions with exceptional quality and execution that exceed client expectations.

The BCPL reports to the Regional Business Leader. It is the expectation that all leadership roles have a maximum term of 5-years, with the opportunity to reevaluate at the end of the term and for the purpose of succession and company growth. The BCPL works closely with other BC leaders to deliver professional services to clients, while championing safety, quality, innovation, and risk management processes.

Your Key Responsibilities

Client Focus:

  • Responsible for exceeding client expectations through strong account management across the BC and personally leading accounts for major clients in the BC.
  • Lead and participate in pursuits and campaigns for major BC opportunities.
  • Drives the client relationship strategy, working with senior practitioners and BC leaders to strong results in client satisfaction surveys.
Business Development and Collaboration:
  • Actively contributes to win strategies and successful project execution and becomes involved at a hands-on level in key pursuits as needed.
  • Leads growth of the BC through developing and leading the business development, key pursuit and sales strategy. Holds senior practitioners accountable to expand our reach and client base, utilizing strong marketing, business development, and sales account management plans.
  • In collaboration with other BCPLs, responsible for developing and managing the marketing and business development (M&BD) plan for the BC including cross selling.
  • Increases visibility of Stantec by sharing our knowledge and innovation story through key client engagements to enhance our reputation and drive revenue.
  • Leads an effective Go/No Go Review process and tracks compliance of Go/No Go Process
  • Partners with other BCPLs and leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and business lines.
Practice :
  • Champion Stantec\'s Safer Together culture and lead health and safety performance of the BC, including communication of health and safety information and the investigation of incidents.
  • Lead, challenge, and inspire technical staff (including coaching developing professionals) through substantive engagement and communication and foster an inclusive and diverse culture.
  • Attract key staff to Stantec\'s Environmental Service team to facilitate growth.
  • Drive technical excellence for projects and proposals within the BC, as well as participate in regular national technical leadership meetings, initiatives, and innovation strategies.
  • Administer risk management and quality assurance related to projects and opportunities, including review of contracts, and identifying risk triggers.
  • Promote innovation relevant to the BC\'s technical disciplines, including sponsoring Environmental Services strategic initiatives and tools (e.g., digital tool development, eDNA applications) and driving the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit program.
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Ability to balance project execution, business development, and BC leadership.

Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental Services industry in Atlantic Canada with an established network of client and industry contacts

Entrepreneurial minded with a core understanding of business and the challenges of an engineering and environmental consulting services provider.

Strong technical background in environmental services.

Team player with experience building, leading, and managing a team.

Awareness of professional standards of practice including licensing bodies and professional certifications, ethics, and their applicability to Stantec\'s business, risk management, and quality frameworks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly convey and distill complex technical information to a variety of audiences.

Education and Experience

Bachelor\'s degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of environmental services work, leadership, technical, financial management, business development and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position will be hybrid, but primarily work in an office setting. Travel required to other Stantec office locations, the field and/or meetings with clients.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):
  • $127,800 - $198,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in PEI
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
