Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards, including AP frameworks, and educational goals.
Educate students on various social studies topics such as history, geography, civics, and cultural studies, along with English language arts concepts including writing, literature analysis, and communication skills.
Facilitate classroom discussions to enhance critical thinking, debate skills, and persuasive writing techniques.
Integrate primary sources, historical documents, and literary texts to encourage students' analysis and understanding.
Provide AP exam preparation and tutoring support for students needing additional guidance in understanding complex historical and literary concepts.
Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters critical thinking skills.
Assess student performance through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
Collaborate with special education staff to accommodate students with diverse learning needs.
Experience
A bachelor's degree in
Education
,
History
,
English
, or a related field is required. A master's degree is a plus.
Prior experience teaching
Social Studies
and
English
at the middle or high school level, including AP courses, is highly preferred.
Familiarity with AP curriculum, exam structure, and College Board requirements is an advantage.
Strong writing and communication skills are essential for integrating literature, history, and critical analysis into lessons.
Experience working with special education students is a plus, demonstrating an ability to adapt teaching strategies effectively.
MUST BE ABLE to use Mandarin as language of instruction.
