Job Summary

The Junior Battery Engineer works with the team to support the development of proprietary cell technology. The Junior Battery Engineer is responsible for evaluating active and inactive cell components. Expected duties include but are not limited to material evaluation, draft new/existing cell components drawings and/or specifications, documentation control, cell assembly, testing and analyzing to market and/or customer targets.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Assist in the design, development, and evaluation of new and existing products.
  • Use Solidworks 3D software to design, evaluate, and archive product documentation.
  • Assist in the evaluation and troubleshooting of products.
  • Develop bill of materials, routers, and costing analysis, as needed.
  • Troubleshoot product performance issues reported by sales and customer feedback.
  • Support production team in material evaluation, cell building, cell testing and data analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications:
  • University level degree in Engineering, prefer electrochemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • 1+ year of related experience
  • 1+ year of Solid Works experience
  • Experience in battery chemistry and battery components is an asset.
  • ISO 9001 quality documentation experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • High degree of attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal in English .
