St. Lawrence Cruise Lines Inc. has an opening for the position of Wine/Bar Steward for a Kingston-based overnight cruise ship on 4, 5, 6 and 7 night voyages to Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City. This position is Full time, Seasonal from May to October. It is suitable for persons over the age of 18 (including college and university students not returning for the fall semester). Paid training is provided. Experience is not necessary but bar, table service, and hospitality experience will be considered an asset. Under supervision of the Cruise Director, the Wine/Bar Steward is responsible for the following:
- Wine service at the table
- Bartending \xe2\x80\x93 Mixology
- Drink rounds to outer decks
- Ship\xe2\x80\x99s bar inventory
- General crew-related duties Work Periods:
- Full time, Seasonal (May-October)
- 10.5 hour days (on average)
- Alternating 4, 5, 6 and 7 night cruises on a "cruise-on, cruise-off" basis \xe2\x80\x93 equivalent to 40 hrs per week Wages and Compensation:
- $16 per hour + gratuities
- Full participation in crew gratuity program
- Transportation to/from ports provided (with food allowance)
