Hey, thanks for your interest in becoming a Tapmaster here at Something in the Water! We were Canada's New Brewery of the Year, bringing curious beverages and incredible tacos to Toronto's Liberty Village and Kingston's Princess St.

Our mission is to create and curate curious beverages for our customers. Everything we sell is both a little unexpected, but makes complete sense. Our taproom was designed the same way. Different than most taprooms you've visited: smaller, emphasis on finishes and decor, and with the energy of a cafe in Barcelona. The Tapmaster manages the delicious delivery of our beverages and is the centre of the customer experience - whether it's sharing tasting notes of a sampler flight or discussing our Ghost Taco food offerings and how they pair with each beer. We have table service and cashless experience. The Tapmaster also manages the bottle shop and retail shelves in our taproom, and has the opportunity to represent us at local beer festivals, and restaurant samplings.

What You'll Do:



Under the direction and management of the General Manager, execute all aspects of Front of House duties following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and employee handbook provided by the company

Following your weekly schedule, and managing your schedule in line with company protocol using 7 Shifts Opening the Taproom for business Training and keeping up to date with our house-made beers & beverages Training and keeping up to date with our Ghost Taco food program Understanding and operating within the four walls of the taproom, staying organized and efficient Tending tables to increase guest satisfaction & ticket sizes Closing the taproom
Deliver an exceptional customer experience at all touch points in the taproom following SOPs

Greet guests, direct guests, seat guests, 360 degrees of service Lead the taps, engage over beer, know the beer, describe the beer, pour the beer, present the beer, help ENJOY the beer! Manage beer flights and super flights Manage cocktails Manage purchases from the bottle shop, retail, and merchandise Pair and sell food with beverages to enhance the guest experience Answer questions, engage with our guests, and create a welcoming environment Help manage creative events
Create a clean and safe environment for guests

Pre + post shift: Daily cleaning duties (checklist) provided by GM During shifts: Clear/wipe tables and surfaces, cleaning up after guests, cleaning glassware Ensuring bathrooms are always clean and tidy Ensuring walk-in cooler is cleaned as/when messes occur, and organized for everyone to use safely and efficiently Ensuring the retail display, and bottle shop fridge is stocked and organized according to SOP
