Job Description

Fleur De Lys Bakery is a modern French-style bakery and cafe in Vaughan (near Maple GO Station). We are looking for a friendly, professional Barista to join our team!

Your responsibilities will include:
Operating an espresso machine, steaming milk, and dialing-in coffee daily
Preparing espresso-based drinks (latte, cappuccino, etc.) and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards with attention to quality and presentation
Providing excellent customer service with a warm attitude helping others feel welcome
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, dining area, and equipment to ensure a professional environment
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality
Conducting daily opening/closing duties
Supporting the team during busy hours ensuring smooth workflow
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including serving pastries and light snacks
Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a customer service environment is required
Previous experience as a Barista is preferred
Strong customer-facing service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and to deal with conflicts is a must
Passion for coffee, pastries, and French-style cafe culture
Ability to work well in a team and handle a mix of slow and fast-paced environment
Familiarity with POS systems is a plus

Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is desirable
Food Handler Certificate is a plus

Position Details:

Type: Part-time (2-3 shifts/week) or Full-time (4-5 shifts/week) Hours: Morning and/or afternoon shifts (including weekends) Availability: Weekends (after 1pm) and most Weekdays. Wage: Starting from $17.60/hour, with potential raise after probation
