We are seeking a passionate and versatile individual to join our team as a
Barista + Junior Baker
. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who loves the art of coffee and the craft of baking. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences at the front of the house (FOH) while assisting with bakery operations in the back of the house (BOH).
As a Barista
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages with precision and artistry.
Take customer orders and process payments efficiently using a POS system.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including espresso machines, grinders, and equipment.
Serve baked goods, sandwiches, and other menu items, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Engage with customers to build relationships and provide exceptional service.
Clean FOH areas, including vacuuming, mopping, cleaning sinks, bathrooms, and displays.
Assist with restocking and inventory management for FOH items.
As a Junior Baker
Assist in the preparation of cake boxes, tiramisu, cookies, and pastries for display.
Support the Head Baker and Head Cake Decorator with dishwashing, cleaning, and other immediate tasks.
Help produce batters, fillings, frostings, and other bakery components.
Monitor ingredient stock levels and communicate shortages to management.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Scale recipes accurately for production needs.
Collaborate with senior bakers to create visually appealing desserts.
Qualifications
Barista Experience:
At least 1 year of barista experience in a fast-paced cafe environment or willingness to learn is required
Baking Knowledge:
Previous experience in a bakery or culinary setting is required (culinary graduates are encouraged to apply).
Strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques, including latte art skills.
Basic knowledge of baking techniques, tools, and ingredients.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and within a team.
Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
