Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team at LIONS BAY General Store and Cafe. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and inviting environment. This role requires a blend of technical skills in food preparation and an ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards. Operate the Square POS system, handle cash transactions, and ensure accurate cash handling. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas. Assist with food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours. Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in the food industry or as a Barista is preferred but not required. Strong cash handling skills with experience using POS systems. Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures. Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing. Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently. A friendly demeanor with strong communication skills to engage with customers effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
