Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated

Barista

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This role is not only barista work -- it's a

hands-on, multi-tasking position

. You will be preparing coffees, assembling sandwiches, and operating our Toast POS system. We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, works well in a team, and takes pride in creating great customer experiences in a fast-paced cafe environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards. Operate coffee brewing equipment and maintain cleanliness of all equipment. Handle transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties. Use

Toast POS

to take orders and process payments (training provided). Assist with food preparation and follow food safety and handling guidelines. Assemble sandwiches and paninis according to Pressato recipes and quality standards (training provided). Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders efficiently, and assisting with inquiries. Manage time effectively during peak hours to ensure timely service without compromising quality. Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

General Duties

Maintain an organized and clean workspace (surfaces, utensils, equipment). Assist teammates during busy times. Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.

Qualifications

Barista or cafe experience preferred. Previous food industry or food service experience is an asset, but not required. Willing to learn sandwich assembly and POS procedures. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling. Must be available mornings and/or weekends. Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor. Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically active tasks.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
