Job Description

Position Summary


The Barista is responsible for creating and serving exceptional coffee and tea beverages while providing excellent customer service. They will also assist with cashier duties, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities



Beverage Preparation:

Prepare a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso-based drinks, matcha, and specialty lattes, ensuring consistency and quality in every cup. Grind coffee beans, measure ingredients, and steam milk to achieve the desired texture and temperature. Master latte art techniques to enhance the presentation of drinks, including creating hearts, leaves, and other designs.
Workstation Management:

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including regular cleaning of the espresso machine, grinders, and other equipment. Stock and organize ingredients and supplies (e.g., coffee beans, syrups, milk) to ensure seamless workflow during service hours. Perform routine checks on equipment, reporting maintenance or repair needs to the Lead Supervisor.
Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and provide menu recommendations, including food pairings with coffee or tea beverages. Handle special requests or dietary preferences, ensuring customer satisfaction. Collaborate with the kitchen team for lunch side orders or baked goods to meet customer needs promptly.
Cashier Duties:

Operate the POS system to process orders, accept payments, and provide accurate change and receipts.
Other Responsibilities:

Support the team during peak hours by multitasking and assisting with other tasks as needed. Follow health and safety protocols, including proper hand washing, cleaning surfaces, and wearing gloves when handling food items.
Qualifications:

Previous experience as a barista or in a fast-paced food service role preferred. Passion for coffee, tea, and creating an exceptional customer experience. Attention to detail with the ability to craft consistent and high-quality beverages. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage customers and work collaboratively with team members. Food handlers and smart serve are an asset. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons and early evenings. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs.
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage with opportunities for growth.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
