As a Bar Porter with Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and flavours that are hallmarks of our restaurant and lounge experience. Your warm, attentive guest service and passion for mixology is worth raising a glass to!What you will be doing:Reporting to the Assistant Restaurant Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceFollow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverageAssist with a steady flow of the bar, assisting the bartenders in all operations of mixing cocktails.Prepare mixer, cut fruit, receive requisitions, check par levels, refill mixers, get ice, run food, and collect and dispose of garbageMaintain proper condition and cleanliness of service areas and equipmentRetrieve requisitions and participate in the deep cleaning of the outletAdditional duties as necessary and assignedPhysical Aspects Include But Are Not Limited To:Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbsOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingYou may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts.QualificationsYour experience and skills include:Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesPrevious barback experience preferredMust be have knowledge of various liquors and winesMust have knowledge of mixing and creating basic liquor drinksAbility to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibilityPrevious point of sale system experience an asset, but not requiredExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a teamPro-Serve Certificate required prior to commencing employmentRequired to be of legal age (18 years old) to serve alcohol in AlbertaMust be legally eligible to work in Canada.
