Rare Events is looking for friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team for the following event:

Great Outdoors Comedy Festival on July 18, 19 and 20 at Assiniboine Park (55 Pavilion Crescent)

We are currently hiring for two different positions:

Expeditors and Bartender Assistants (BAs).

Shift Schedule

July 18 shifts run from 3:30pm until 11:30pm July 19 shifts run from 4:00pm until 11:30pm July 20 shifts are either 11am to midnight

OR

4:30pm to midnight
Shift times are approximate and may be subject to change.


As a

Bartender Assistant (BA)

with Rare Events, you will be responsible for:

Repeatedly moving product such a flats of beer, boxes of liquor, or bags of ice from reefer trucks to bars (up to approx 300m), either by hand or with the use of a hand cart Unloading and organizing product into ice bins Proactively maintaining stock for Bartenders, such as ice, cups, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Continously keeping a tidy workspace, which includes gathering garbage, recycling, and breaking down boxes.

As an

Expeditor (Expo)

with Rare Events, you will be responsible for:

Using Square to print drink chits and distributing them evenly to Bartenders Using clear communication to work as a team with Bartenders and Servers - you are the link between the two Ensuring that the Bartenders to not run out of drink chits Assisting the Bartenders with keeping the drink chits organized and completed in order Verifying the accuracy of orders prior to them being served Transferring drink orders to the pick up table while keeping them organized Ensuring drink runners are taking the order that has been up the longest and taking more than one order at a time during peak times.

We pay a competitive wage of $15.80/hour, as well as, guaranteed $15/hour in gratuities.

Requirements:

Must be 18+ years of age. Must be available to work a shift on all 3 days of the event. Must have a valid Smart Choices certificate, or be willing to get one prior to starting work. For more information on Smart Choices, click here. Bartending and/or serving experience is an asset, but not required. We are looking for candidates with the right attitude and customer service experience.
