Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club is a beautiful golf course and restaurant located just outside Guelph, Ontario. We're seeking a
qualified, skilled, and passionate Chef
to lead our culinary team. Our clubhouse offers guests an exceptional dining experience from casual meals after a round of golf to elegant weddings, corporate events/ tradeshows, conference and special events (milestone birthdays, Celebration of Life etc).

About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a
Banquet & Restaurant Cook
, where your passion for food and creativity will shine. You'll prepare and present high-quality dishes for a variety of events, including weddings, golf tournaments, and private functions, ensuring each guest enjoys an exceptional culinary experience.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality meals for both restaurant service and banquet events.
Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menus that meet diverse dietary needs.
Supervise and support kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage stock levels to optimize kitchen efficiency.
Lead by example in food preparation, presentation, and plating.
Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety standards.
Train and mentor new kitchen team members.
Work collaboratively with front-of-house and events staff to deliver seamless service.
Create and execute seasonal menus for our members and guests.
Manage food costs and monitor kitchen budgets.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Proven experience in a banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environment.
Smart Serve certified (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a busy environment.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred Assets
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
Supervisory or management experience in a culinary setting.
Banquet experience
Familiarity with food inventory systems and cost-control practices.
Knowledge of dietary menu planning and food trends.
Experience working collaboratively between FOH and BOH teams.
