Job Summary

Every day, our teams work with our partners to create opportunities, find innovative solutions, and implement the changes that support and enable government to achieve its priorities for British Columbians. The OCIO\'s Enterprise Services Division enables Government to deliver services to citizens by providing high quality, secure and cost-effective information, the Enterprise Services Division is responsible for providing IM/IT infrastructure and services that include essential work tools (i.e., desktops, laptops, tablets, productivity tools), maintaining state-of-the-art data centres; preventing, detecting, and responding to cyberattacks; supporting critical network services; IT service management and technology planning.
The Executive Director, Network Services provides strategic leadership as well as day-to-day operational direction for the branch\xe2\x80\x99s telecommunication and office productivity products and services through insourced and outsourced service delivery models. This position ensures its strategic plans, operational plans, services and service delivery models are consistent with government\xe2\x80\x99s direction and have a key role in managing partner and suppliers and the integration of their services within government infrastructure. The Executive Director manages partner and stakeholder relationships by encouraging an atmosphere of trust, openness, and communication based on working together and shared objectives.

Job Requirements:
  • Related degree, diploma, professional designation in Computer Science (or similar) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Five (5) or more years in a senior leadership position within a large, complex, IT or Digital Services environment
  • Five (5) or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a service delivery, or operational leadership role that required collaboration, conflict management and sensitivity to stakeholder perspectives.
  • Five (5) or more years; experience providing strategic advice and briefings to Ministry Executive, Deputy Ministers, senior government officials (or private sector equivalent).
  • Five (5) or more years experience establishing collaborative relationships with senior leaders across government (or private sector equivalent)
  • Five (5) or more years experience leading organizational change associated with the implementation or transformation of new products or services.
  • Five (5) or more years experience incorporating business priorities, strategies, goals, emerging technologies, industry trends, and evaluating economic viability in a fast-paced technology-dependent business area.
  • Five (5) or more years experience managing a diverse team of professional staff and project teams.
  • Three (3) or more years experience developing and leading effective governance frameworks, processes, reporting and providing committee direction or oversite.
  • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).
