About the Role

Reporting to the Bakery Manager, the

Bakery Lead

is responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving deli and bakery items, maintaining store displays, and offering daily support within the bakery department. This role also includes opportunities for leadership, creativity, and involvement in marketing initiatives to help grow the department.

Your Impact

Greet customers, answer questions, and offer product recommendations in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the department, including workstations, equipment, and display cases. Ensure cases, displays, and tables are well-merchandised, properly signed, and visually appealing to highlight product quality. Assist with new recipe development, including testing, tasting, and refining bakery items to expand our product offerings. Bring fresh ideas for promotions and marketing, contributing to seasonal features, themed displays, and weekly specials. Support and participate in in-store demos and product sampling, helping to boost customer engagement and sales. Provide informal supervisory support, such as helping to guide junior staff, monitoring task completion, and ensuring department standards are met when the Bakery Manager is unavailable.

About You

Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food retail environment is considered a strong asset. Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for food and hospitality. Comfortable offering guidance to teammates and contributing ideas that improve workflow or enhance the customer experience. Creative mindset with an interest in recipe development, merchandising, and promotional activities. Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds. Must be able to stand, lift, carry, and walk for extended periods of time. Available to work days, weekends, and select holidays.
