The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of
Bakery Backup
at
Seasons Food Store
located at
755 Sterling Lyon Parkway, in Winnipeg, Manitoba
. This position reports to the
Bakery Manager
. The
Bakery Backup
adds value to our Co-operative by providing leadership to the Bakery and assisting the Bakery Manager in day-to-day operations.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
Assist the Bakery Manager in ensuring standards of department presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, food safety and food handling standards, inventory control, rotation, ordering and commitment buys, and the delivery of world-class customer service
Provide leadership and direction to employees in accordance with company policies, procedures, programs, merchandising standards and overall expectations.
Assist with scheduling department staff to meet production and customer service needs.
Assist with resolving problems that arise, such as customer complaints, supply shortages, and staffing issues.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills, previous experience, and competencies:
Excellent interpersonal skills. We're looking for someone who builds great relationships with co-workers and customers.
Strong customer focus and interest in serving others.
Experience working in a retail bakery would be an asset.
Open availability and willing to work different shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
Available to work up to 40 hours per week.
