Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Bakery Cashier. This role is essential in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality baked goods and exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, or food retail particularly in a bakery, and will be committed to maintaining food safety standards while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Duties

providing exceptional customer service, accurately processing transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) system, handling cash, bagging orders, and maintaining a clean and organized sales area. Basic food preparation.(filling, shaping, forming, scaling, etc.) Key duties include greeting customers, answering product questions, suggesting pairings, and assisting with other tasks like stocking or cleaning. Essential skills include strong communication, basic math, attention to detail, and the ability to stand for long period. Answering phone calls. Prepare various food items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in packaging and labelling of products, ensuring consistency in quality. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries. Handle food safely by adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper packaging of baked goods. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service delivery. Participate in inventory management, including tracking supplies and reporting shortages.

Requirements

Background in retail, bakery, restaurant or kitchen environments, demonstrating familiarity with bakery goods. ability to mutlitask. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential. Previous experience in the food industry is highly desirable. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to meet business demands. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.85-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
