Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant and a Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that all products are prepared and presented to the highest standards. This position requires a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist in food preparation, including baking, decorating, and packaging bakery items. Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, to process customer transactions accurately. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and offering product recommendations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and serving areas according to food safety guidelines. Handle cash transactions responsibly and accurately manage cash handling procedures. Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with restocking as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods. Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase sales.

Requirements

Previous experience in food service or the bakery industry is preferred but not mandatory. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Experience with cashiering and operating POS systems is a plus. A background in restaurant or kitchen experience is beneficial but not required.
