The Bread and Butter of the Position:
If you have a love for baking and a willingness to maintain high quality food and safety standards, a position on our Bakery Production team may be your career sweet spot! Our Bakery Production Team Members are truly the bread and butter of our business, baking the highest quality, artisan style products day in and day out.
Bonus points if you have previous commercial baking experience!
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, our Bakery Production Team Members are responsible for:
Perform a wide range of duties to ensure the production of all Portofino products. This could include but is not limited to: set up for production, mixing, production line monitoring, proofing, baking, and cleaning Prepare dough for different recipes, and effectively mix dough(s) to recipe book standards
Follow written recipe book standards in metric units, and deliver on time to meet customer demands
Meet or exceed speed and efficiency targets as set out in Intermediate Baker Training
Perform a wide range of duties to ensure the packaging of all Portofino products
Deliver company and bakery training as required.
Ensure the work area is properly stocked with the correct packaging materials and that management is aware of any low or out-of-stock products
Clean and sanitize all equipment, tools and, workspaces
Follow quality standards and the Food Safety Program (FSP)
Ensure all products meet quality standards and are sliced, packaged, labelled and dated accurately in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements
Reporting to the immediate supervisor or lead any questions or concerns regarding product quality, equipment operation or safety concerns
Assist with production management
Ensure that all required documentation is completely accurate and in real-time
Ensure all equipment is turned off, locked out and stored correctly for the next day
Ensure to follow and record the cleaning and sanitation checklists
Keep product rotated and following FIFO standards (First in First out)
Maintain a safe work environment
Other duties assigned
Shifts and availability:
8- hour shifts. (2/3:00 pm start time)
This is a full-time permanent position

The ability to work independently, as well as in a group
The ability to work on your feet for extended periods
The ability to work in a clean, organized manner
The ability to lift up to 50lbs
A commitment to upholding company policies, compliance and quality standards
A commitment to punctuality and reliability, reporting to work on time as scheduled
A willingness to learn and grow
Previous experience in a commercial bakery is considered an asset
Previous experience with HACCP
