We're looking for a part time baker as our volume continues to increase. We need someone with baking experience or at least extensive kitchen experience so that the skills can carry over easily. Familiarity with using a pizza peel would be great. Being a baker requires problem solving, lifting big bags of flour, being creative and loving bread! We're an exclusively gluten free sourdough bakery making artisan breads and treats. We supply wholesale to a number of local businesses and our own cafe/restaurant. This job requires no customer service. Some of the shifts are task based and very flexible - you start when you want on the day and have the whole kitchen to yourself to get your baking done (so feel free to blast your music and get into a groove). Right now we are offering 3 days a week with some flexibility - Tuesday morning bake shift & dough prep, Thursday (flex start) dough prep, and Saturday morning bake shift (this is a shorter shift).
Responsibilities
Work with and understand sourdough bread and its variables
Consult the order spreadsheet in real-time before your shifts
Be consistent with the product quality
Get creative with flavors, variations on things - we love your ideas!
Be comfortable with some early mornings
Clean up the space when you're done
Skills
Baking experience in any form (whether that's bread, or pastry, whatever)
Pizza peel familiarity (ideally)
Comfort and familiarity with hot ovens!
Sufficient physical strength to manage heavy flour bags, large quantities of dough, cast iron bakeware
Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
If you love to bake, or are an experienced cook who thinks they can learn, and you love working solo on your own time and getting into a groove with no customers bothering you, then hit us up!
