A HACCP commercial bakery located in Etobicoke is looking for a Pastry Chef to join our team. Position: Pastry Chef (approx 35-40 hours per week) Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday-Friday (daytime hours) - NO WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS Location: Etobicoke near Kipling Station Pastry Chefs are responsible to follow the recipes and instructions to ensure good quality product is produced at all times. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for safety of the operation of the equipment.
• Responsible for reporting any equipment malfunctions immediately to the Manager.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and free of hazards.
• Responsible for maintaining small tools in a safe place such as knives, thermometers, utensils, etc.
• Responsible in operating and maintaining scales, following start-up and change over procedures.
• Follow the mixing procedures without changing or modifying.
• Responsible in inspecting the raw materials prior to use and record observation on the checklist.
• Completing records in a timely manner as well as pre-operational inspection sheet and reporting and discrepancies
• Ensures the proper cleaning of equipment.
• Work closely with other bakers on the line.
• Practicing and adhering to Food Safety, GMP\xe2\x80\x99s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Health and Safety.
• Job duties are not limited to the above and other reasonable duties may be assigned by the Bakery Manager.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of mixing formulas pertaining to baked goods.
• Knowledge in Equipment Safety (Mixer, Depositor, Scale, Oven etc.) and practices
• Knowledge of thermometers and their care.
• Ability to multi-task by handling various production demands.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures for Health and Safety & GMP.
• Ability to prioritize especially with frequent changes.
• Lifting ability up to 50 pounds
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to communicate in Basic English, both verbal and written.
• Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift.
• Ability to work holidays and weekends if needed.
• Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• One year work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $16.50-$18.00 per hour Benefits:
