Baggage Operation Agent

Main Purpose of the Job :
Responsible for quality control and timely system processing including baggage jams, contingency process management and system monitoring.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :
Responsible for quality control and timely system processing including baggage jams, contingency process management, and system monitoring.
Ensures that the system is functioning efficiently to handle the expected peak level of demand.
Performs a daily inspection of the system hardware to include light maintenance, cleaning, and observing/recording/escalation of degraded issues or maintenance requirements.
Works closely with Manager, Airport Operations and airline customers to ensure accurate and appropriate resource allocation.
Monitors for violations in baggage room, such as ground handler infractions, including speeding, vehicle parking, etc. and escalates to Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.
Ensure bags with inactive tags are handed back to airline, take steps to resolve bags with missing tags, perform manual encoding operation for any misread bag, and ensure bags with active tags are encoded and sent onto the correct lateral.
Coordinate with onsite and offsite maintenance providers and Manager, Airport Operations during scheduled or on-demand maintenance to maximize service delivery during degraded, contingency or irregular operations.
Proper completion of daily activity/ shift reports, Incident/occurrence reports and all post required logs and registers in a timley manner.
Undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as reasonably directed by the Team Lead and Manager, Airport Support Services.

Main Attributes Required :
Must possess a High School Diploma and valid Drivers License.
Must be proficient in the use of all MS Office software programs. i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook.
Minimum1-2 years customer service experience and/or airline/airport operations.
Must be familiar with federal security legislation and corporate protocols.
Ability to work under periods of stress during emergencies and high density workloads.
Ability to lift 60 lbs unassisted.
Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills, strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to meet enhanced government security clearance requirements to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada security clearance.
