Overview

Here at Fens, Silver Dart; we are looking to add a Backshift Employee to our Team, with the potential of up to 40 hours per week. The shift hours are Overnight, between 11pm and 7am, you receive an extra $1.00 on top of your hourly $15.70 starting after 12am.

The kind of employee we are looking for is someone who is capable of managing their responsibility in a timely manner, while obtaining the set standards set in place upon training. Flexibility in your schedule is important for shift work, we do not have a set-in-stone schedule, though, we are on the path towards that goal; therefore, being upfront about your availability is vital. Lastly, we are looking for an employee who has aligning goals and expectations within a workplace.



The Backshift role requires extra responsibility, considering you are generally working alone. It is expected that you complete general upkeep of the store as it is not overly busy with customers. You will be responsible for a check-list, you will be authorizing gas transactions & serving customers.

Backshift requires some things do be done at very specific times throughout the night, it will be very important that you take care in being punctual.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy. Upsell products and services to enhance the customer experience. Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
Requirements

Previous cashiering or retail experience preferred but not required.*
Atlantic Lottery knowledge is advantageous*
Able to lift at-least 30Lbs and be able to change the outside garbage's is required*
Fluent English is required, Bilingual is advantageous*
Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous*.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed is required*
Full driver's license and reliable way of travelling to and from work is absolutely Required(bus is not acceptable)
Expectations

You must be present and on time for your scheduled shift. After given training, we expect you to continue to do things the proper way. If you are unable to come into your scheduled shift, a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to allow us time to try and fill the shift.
Training & Probation

Your first few shifts will be training shifts, to which you still get paid your full hourly wadge with the dollar bonus.

We allow a 3 Month probation period to assess if you are the right fit for our store. Until your three months has been completed, there is the potential to be terminated with no notice. You will be allotted warnings or reminders given there are any issues prior to your three-month review, allowing you to have the option to improve before termination is considered.
