Overview

Progressive Turf Equipment is on the forefront of creating software and hardware for autonomous machines in sod applications. We are seeking a talented Back End Engineer to join our team. With the recent announcement of our new autonomous machine, we're expanding our team to keep pace with innovation and development. If you're passionate about technology, enjoy learning, thrive in a collaborative environment, and take ownership of your work from start to finish, this role is for you.

An ideal candidate would be well rounded in computing outside of Back End technologies such as high level design, software development best practices, cloud infrastructure, and anything related to hardware or robotics as a bonus. From time to time we may need help in any part of the stack, could be looking at GPS time-series data one day and next day looking at new tooling or method for processing historical data faster. A passion for learning new things, collaboration, and ownership of work from start to completion is a must.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement new features in our Django API Maintain and enhance the current CI/CD process. Develop and manage infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Assist in deploying software to hardware Mentor team members in best software practices and architecture Collaborate with other teams and clients to address any issues

Nice to Have

Experience working with AWS APIs Experience with working with AWS IaC tooling (CloudFormation, Terraform, OpenTofu) Experience with managing in-field computing devices Experience with building custom tooling or User Interfaces Located in North America Timezone

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technology-related field such as computer science, web development or software engineering, or equivalent experience 3+ years of application development experience Demonstrated experience to work in complex cloud infrastructure
Applicable experience using the following technologies:

Relational database design and usage Experience in common DevOps practices Experience in building and using APIs Experience using tools such as Git, Docker, and Project Management Tools
